Director and Editor
M. Kathryn Menard, MD, MPH was awarded an MD degree by
the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and completed a residency at the
Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She went on to complete a fellowship in
maternal-fetal medicine at the University of North Carolina, where she also was awarded a
master's degree in public health. Dr. Menard is board certified in obstetrics and
gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine. She holds an Associate Professorship at the
Medical University of South Carolina's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is
Program Director for the Preconception Care Resource Center.
Producer and Author
Mary Boatwright, RN, MPH was awarded a Bachelor of the Arts degree from the
University of Virginia in 1991 and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree
from The University of Maryland in 1995. Ms. Boatwright worked for several
years as a labor and delivery nurse before returning to the John Hopkins
School of Hygiene and Public Health where she was awarded a Master of Public
Health degree in May 2000. Ms. Boatwright is the Program Coordinator for the
Preconception Care Resource Center within the Department of Obstetrics and
Gynecology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC).
